　　On the eve of the two sessions of the National People’s Congress, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held several "face-to-face" discussions with NPC deputies and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference members, and many delegates, members and youth representatives had in-depth exchanges. "It is the most important goal to focus on serving the growth of emerging youth groups into the general trend of the development of the whole country, so as to play the most active role." Wang Hongyan, deputy to the National People’s Congress and secretary of the Central Secretariat of the Communist Youth League, recently emphasized this in the 2018 "Face-to-Face" event, a special event for young people from new economic organizations and new social organizations.

　　As always, this year, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League insisted on carrying out a number of "face-to-face" activities that have lasted for 10 years. This is a channel for the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League to express social interests relying on the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and an important carrier for effectively performing the function of "endorsement" and institutionalizing the demands of young people. Since the event was held for the first time in 2008, the whole group has focused on the unified theme every year. League organizations at all levels have formed suggestions or proposals through in-depth listening and research, and jointly studied with representatives and members before the "two sessions", and issued concentrated appeals at the meeting, and promoted the solution of practical problems through the handling of suggestions and proposals.

　　Needless to say, this is a smooth channel of effective communication, a bond of close relationship and a broad bridge of benign interaction. Moreover, it is also an important carrier for young people to express their wishes and achieve their feelings, and an innovative form of democratic politics, which can achieve win-win and even win-win social benefits.

　　Why do you say that?

　　First of all, since the reform and opening up, with the establishment and perfection of market economy and the rapid development of "space outside the system", a large number of youth groups based on new occupations and lifestyles have emerged. Because there are not many channels for organizations to absorb and participate in the current system, some interests of youth groups cannot be effectively expressed, while others are eager to repay the society but lack a suitable platform. Promoting ideological guidance, emotional exchange and organizational absorption through "face-to-face" activities, bringing them into an orderly social participation mechanism and creating a social governance pattern of co-construction, co-governance and sharing can ensure that all young people, including emerging young people, have more sense of gain and happiness.

　　Secondly, Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. The outstanding feature of the new era is that there is a contradiction between the people’s growing need for a better life and the unbalanced and insufficient development, and different groups in society have diverse values and demands. Take the emerging youth groups as an example. They are the effective force of Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s construction and an important embodiment of the country’s social vitality. However, because most of the emerging youth groups are distributed outside the traditional system, they don’t know much about the party’s policies and enjoy relatively few public services. Face-to-face communication creates conditions for them to make a sound, express their opinions, participate in governance and realize their demands.

　　Thirdly, through "face-to-face" communication, NPC deputies and CPPCC members can fully listen to the voices and wishes of new young people, including those engaged in new economic and social organizations, new media, freelancers, entrepreneurial youth, new generation of migrant workers and young people who have returned from studying abroad, and understand the interests of this group, which is an excellent opportunity for them to conduct in-depth research, which is very helpful for them to improve their bills and proposals, perform their duties and discuss the country. Conversely, face-to-face activities between youth representatives and NPC deputies and CPPCC members can also create a better political, social and entrepreneurial environment for their own development.

　　For example, in view of the difficulties and contradictions of young artists in their pursuit of art, the delegates attending the activities are prepared to put forward relevant suggestions, including the establishment of China Youth Art Museum and the establishment of a fund to explore and support young artists. In order to guide emerging young people to participate in social affairs in an orderly manner, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League fully negotiated with NPC deputies and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference members who participated in the activities, reached consensus and put forward relevant suggestions, including expanding the participation of channels within the system and leaving some space for emerging young people in the legal participation mechanism; Build a training system for emerging young talents, optimize the mechanism of absorption, training and use, and so on.

　　"Moss flowers are as small as rice, but they also bloom like peony." Emerging youth groups and new things breed and grow synchronously, so they should bathe in the sunshine of the party in time and make them more brilliant. The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will eventually become a reality in the relay struggle of generations of young people. The whole party should care for and care for young people and set up a stage for them to realize their brilliant life. The majority of young people should strengthen their ideals and beliefs, aim high, be down-to-earth, be brave in being the trendsetter of the times, let go of their youth dreams in the vivid practice of realizing the Chinese dream, and write a chapter of life in the unremitting struggle for the interests of the people.
