  This is not the first time that Sanya has issued a "one-time death" (revocation of business license) ticket to illegal seafood shops. Just last November, two seafood restaurants were directly revoked their business licenses because of the behavior of bullying customers, and the shareholders and responsible persons of the merchants were blacklisted in the industry.

  Behind the current situation of "repeated prohibitions" and "peer protests" is the "explosive" growth of Sanya seafood catering industry in recent years.

  On the one hand, the "cake" in Sanya seafood catering market is getting bigger and bigger. According to the calculation of Sanya Seafood Food Stall Association, in 2017, Sanya seafood catering industry received 18 million tourists and its revenue was nearly 3 billion yuan. Industry derivative revenue is estimated to be 15 billion yuan, up 10% from 2016.

Even more desperate people resort to illegal means such as hiring "soliciting girls" and bribing taxi drivers.

  "We don’t know much about seafood. Searching for Sanya seafood online came up with a bunch of strategies such as shady and anti-slaughter, which scared us almost to come." In a large seafood market, Li Gang, a Beijing tourist who came to Sanya for the first time, said that after reading news reports and comments from netizens for a long time, he "resolutely chose to eat seafood here".

  "Seafood food has become one of the main forms of tourism in Sanya," said Pang Yongda, head of the Marketing Department of Sanya Tourism Commission. While cracking down on illegal businesses, Sanya has built a credit system and tried to create a "seafood safe tour".
