　　　　The fourth plenary session of the 17th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of communist party, China was held in Beijing on September 19th, 2009. There were 118 members of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection who attended the meeting, and 28 people attended as nonvoting delegates.

　　　　The Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection presided over the meeting. The main tasks of this plenary session are: to conscientiously study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, to analyze and study the situation and tasks faced by the Party’s work style construction and anti-corruption construction, to further promote the party’s work style and clean government construction and the anti-corruption struggle, and to provide a strong guarantee for strengthening and improving Party building under the new situation, winning new victories in building a well-off society in an all-round way and creating a new situation in Socialism with Chinese characteristics. The plenary session deliberated and adopted the report of Comrade He Guoqiang on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on "Conscientiously Implementing the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Deepening the Anti-corruption Struggle for Building a Clean and Honest Party Style".

　　　　The plenary session held that the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was a meeting of great significance on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, which was held in a crucial year to meet major international and domestic challenges and promote the new development of the cause of the Party and the country. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Decision on Strengthening and Improving Party Building under the New Situation, which was deliberated and adopted at the meeting, is a programmatic document guiding Party building at present and in the future. The plenary session unanimously supported the Decision deliberated and adopted by the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee and the important speech delivered by Comrade Hu Jintao at the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee.

　　　　The plenary session emphasized that party building is an important magic weapon for the continuous victory of the great cause led by the party. Party organizations at all levels and the broad masses of party member cadres must fully understand the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee, further enhance their sense of responsibility and urgency in strengthening and improving Party building under the new situation, seriously understand the basic experience of the construction of the ruling party, accurately grasp the new arrangements and new requirements put forward by the CPC Central Committee for strengthening and improving Party building under the new situation, and push forward the new great project of Party building with a more determined attitude and more powerful measures.

　　　　The plenary session demanded that the national discipline inspection and supervision system should quickly set off an upsurge of studying, publicizing and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session, concentrate time and energy, organize the broad masses of discipline inspection and supervision cadres to seriously study the documents of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee, closely combine the actual work of discipline inspection and supervision, work hard to arm their minds, guide practice and promote work, unify their thoughts with the spirit of the Plenary Session, and concentrate their efforts on realizing the tasks set by the Plenary Session. Disciplinary committees at all levels should, under the leadership of Party committees, earnestly enhance their sense of political responsibility, earnestly perform the duties entrusted by party constitution, and promote the major deployment of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee and the implementation of various tasks.
